What Is Immunotherapy?
Immunotherapy is a type of allergen specific desensitisation whereby an allergic individual is exposed to small amounts of an allergen over a set period of time in order to build a desensitisation and reduce allergy symptoms.
In an interview with News Medical, Professor Gideon Lack, Head of Department of Paediatric Allergy at Kings College London, explores the theories behind why we suffer from allergies and if immunotherapy could be the answer to preventing them.
